The Sauce Foundation is gearing up for an impactful future
The Sauce Foundation team has been a little quiet lately on social media, but we’ve been busy behind the scenes. Here are some of the good-news items:
• The I.R.S. has officially recognized us as a 501(c)(3) and that makes all your contributions to the Foundation fully tax-deductible.
• We made our first contribution to the Mike Saucier Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication – $7,500. The first scholarship will be awarded in the fall of 2019, with preference given to first-generation college students.
• We also raised $10,000 for TGen’s pancreatic cancer research. This, my friends, is just the beginning. We are committed to doing our part to defeat pancreatic cancer.
• We raised several thousand dollars in September at the launch party for Frontdoors Magazine’s print edition at Saks Fifth Avenue, which kindly donated part of the proceeds of its sales over a 48-hour period to the Foundation.
HERE IS HOW YOU CAN HELP:
Buy a super-cool Sauce Foundation T-shirt made by our friends at Fodada.
Raise money from your friends on Facebook. Click on the “support nonprofit” button and select “The Sauce Foundation” as your charity.
Shop at the Kendra Scott store at Scottsdale Quarter on Nov. 10. We’ll be sending out more information about this event soon.
We thank all of those who have helped us get here. Hope you’ll spread the word about the work that we’re doing to beat pancreatic cancer and help journalism students pay for college. If you want to partner with us or have an idea for us, send us a note.
Soon, we’ll be unveiling more details about our mission – we’re aiming to be much more than a fundraising entity. Stay tuned!
